The Family Friendly Workplace and The Work and Families Act
23 May 2018, 10:30am - 12:30pm
The Work and Families Act (NI) 2015 brought in a new regime which abolished additional paternity leave and pay and replaced it with shared parental leave. However the new regime is complex and trade union representatives need to be aware of the rules governing whether employees qualify for the new arrangements. The Act also amended provisions regarding flexible working requests which has long been a central issue associated with the “family friendly” aspects of employment law. This seminar will look at what trade union representatives need to know have a working knowledge of the basic aspects of the new law and how their members may qualify for new rights under it.
