unhappy worker

The intense pressure of Covid-19, and the measures introduced by the government in response, has led to a spike in adverse mental health issues affecting workers.

Remote working and furlough has blurred the lines between mental health in the workplace and at home, and has made it even harder for workers to create a healthy work life balance.

Even before the pandemic, the charity, Mind, identified work as the leading cause for stress, with at least one in six workers experiencing common mental health problems.

This is why mental health and the workplace is an increasingly important issue for trade unions.
