Conference notes:
1) The priority in the Programme for Government to Deliver more affordable childcare;
2)The outcome of the PSEP scoping study;
3) The acknowledgement that childcare needs to become more accessible and affordable for all.
Conference calls on NIC ICTU to;
1)Lobby the Minister for Education to urgently action the standardisation of full time Nursery places for all 3 year olds, and abolish the practice for dual day provision, thus delivering 22.5 hours provision per week.
2) Lobby the NI Executive to provide further subsidies to working parents for childcare to enable them to continue to work and support the NI economy.
