The morning session of day two of the ICTU Biennial Delegate Conference addressed the important issue of collective bargaining and workers rights with motions from trade unions north and south.
Delegates heard from Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Social Affairs who updated activists on the progress of the Fair Wages Directive.
Deputy General Secretary of the European Trade Union Congress also addressed the conference on the work of the ETUC to ensure that the Directive is fit for purpose for trade unionists.
The conference also heard a key note speech from ICTU General Secretary Patricia King who addressed a range of issues including workers rights, the pandemic and the climate emergency.
